BestBuy.com had a deal on the TomTom One LE Portable GPS for $149 so I picked one up to play with. My car already has GPS and a LCD that is twice the size of the TomTom’s but I wanted something I could carry around when I travel and as a backup unit in case my cars GPS fails.
What’s unique about this TomTom is that it has Bluetooth 2.0 to connect to GPRS enabled devices to pull traffic and weather information from the internet. My iPhone doesn’t allow tethering or other devices to access the AT&T network, but my Sony Ericsson K790a does and I keep that around for pictures and such. I’m going to test out the Bluetooth function a little later and see what I think of it.
