Jing Desktop Recording and Sharing Application

I stumbled upon this application called Jing through Slickdeals.net which is free.  It is a program for the OSX or Windows which records a video or takes a still shot of your desktop.
The best part of it, is that after it captures, it uploads it to Screencast.com to share.  You can also set it to upload to Flickr which I tested to put the picture above or FTP or to a File. (I captured this post.)
It then automatically puts the URL to your capture on your clipboard to share easily.
Here is a video capture I uploaded to test – http://www.screencast.com/users/LESLIEx317537/folders/Jing/media/4cbdf76d-a860-409b-9780-67e2a876e725

Lunar Eclipse Time Lapse Video

I video taped the February 2008 lunar eclipse from a window inside my house.
Not the best shot but you can see it fade and reappear.
I had to reposition the camera every 30 minutes to follow the moon moving through the sky.
I also used the Aiptek camera and it doesn’t have a very large SD card in it so I had to transfer the video to my computer when it ran out.
I increased the speed by 10000%. This was my first time lapsed video.
I hope you enjoy.

Apple Keyboard Firmware Update 1.0

I’ve been having this annoying issue with my MacBook Pro where the first letter you try to type will be ignored sometimes. It gets very annoying and posted on the Apple Forums about it only to have the topic closed and locked.
It looks like the finally fixed it. Yay!
I checked for a Apple Software update today and this is what it said:

This MacBook and MacBook Pro firmware update addresses an issue where the first key press may be ignored if the computer has been sitting idle. It also addresses some other issues.

The update package will install an updater application into the Applications/Utilities folder and will launch it automatically. Please follow the instructions in the updater application to complete the update process.

I’m going to update now and hope it fixes it!

Netflix Watch Now Plugin for Windows Vista MCE

Some developer created a really cool plugin for Windows Vista MCE that allows you to interact with Netflix via the MCE interface.
More importantly, it allows you to browse the instant Watch Now movies that Netflix offers through the MCE interface and allows easy playback.
I installed the plugin on my Vista MCE machine and it works really well. It was also easy to install. I highly recommend this plugin if you have a Netflix account and a Windows Vista MCE.
You can find out more and download the plugin from here – http://www.anpark.com/Software.aspx
